Optibet Customer Wins €6.5 Million Microgaming Mega Moolah Jackpot

Microgaming Mega Moolah Jackpot Win

An Optibet.com customer has made headlines this week after triggering a €6.5 million jackpot on the famous Microgaming Mega Moolah slot.

The anonymous customer won the €6,597,136.10 jackpot earlier this month on June 4th when playing at Optibet.com, an online casino website licensed in Lithuania, Curacao, Latvia, Sweden, and Malta. Like all other Microgaming progressive jackpot wins, the giant will be paid out as a lump sum.

According to Microgaming, the €6.5 million win marks the hundredth win of seven figures or more in the slot franchise’s history, and the fifth win this year. Back in April, a Belgian customer at Napoleon Sports & Casino triggered a whopping €19,430,723.60 win on Absolootly Mad: Mega Moolah.

John Coleman, the CEO at Microgaming, said in a statement: “I’m delighted to see another big jackpot win so soon after Mega Moolah dropped €19.4 million in April. My congratulations go to Optibet and their player on this brilliant win. This is something of a milestone for Microgaming, being the 100th Euro millionaire made on our progressive jackpot network.”

Chris Davis, the CPO at Optibet, added: “We were thrilled to hear the news that one of our players had struck the Mega jackpot on the legendary Mega Moolah. Not only was it the first Mega jackpot to be hit at Optibet.com, but it’s also a tremendous multi-million-Euro prize!”

Playtech Launches New Cash Collect Slot Series

Playtech has this week announced the launch of its new Cash Collect slot series, games that have their own distinct themes and features, and use the Cash Collect mechanic where a special symbol awards cash prizes and determines the number of free spins triggered.

According to Playtech, the brand new slot series launched with Sahara Cash Collect, which was made exclusively available with operator Entain, and the series is set to expand with the release of Cash Collect: Atlantis, as well as future titles too.

James Frendo, the Director of Casino at Playtech, said in a statement: “We’re delighted to see players have responded so positively to Cash Collect so quickly. It may be early days yet, but all the signs are that the Cash Collect brand is set to follow in the footsteps of some of our most popular game suites.

“The strategy behind Playtech power suites is to combine the best in innovative slot design and mechanics with a distinctive narrative, look and feel to engage players with a brand. Players look forward to new releases within the suite and, with features unique to each individual game, can enjoy gameplay that is fresh yet familiar.”

He added: “Our Age Of The Gods and Fire Blaze suites are already well-established cross-vertical hits, and more recently, our Power Zones suite has quickly gained and retained popularity. We’re confident that the Cash Collect suite has the same potential to be a long-term favourite with players.”

Colin Cole-Johnson, the Gaming Product Director at Entain, said: “Our mission is to offer our customers the best and most exciting content and we are delighted to bring the Cash Collect concept to our UK players across brands including Ladbrokes, Coral, PartyCasino, and Gala. Sahara Riches became an instant player favourite during our exclusivity period and we’re very much looking forward to be the first operator to be able to offer Atlantis and future releases in the suite to our players. Delivering the best in gaming entertainment is our business!”

Pragmatic Play Launches New Lucky Lightning Slot

Meanwhile, leading game developer Pragmatic Play has launched a brand new Greek God-themed video slot.

Titled Lucky Lightning, the slot takes place in an Ancient Greek setting and uses a 3×5 layout with 243 paylines, and an RTP of 95.51%. According to Pragmatic Play, symbols in the slot are based on the Greek Gods such as Zeus and Hera, as well as the creatures from Greek mythology, including the legendary Griffin, Pegasus, and the Minotaur of Crete.

In addition, the game features a Lucky Lightning mechanic, which is triggered randomly when a lightning symbol lands on the game’s first two reels. When this happens, the mechanic will either grow the size of the reels to 3×6 or extend the final reels to hold four reels instead of three.

If the above isn’t enough, the game comes with several other features, including its coverall feature, which awards players with cash prizes, multipliers between 1x and 500x, and any jackpots that appear during the feature. To trigger this feature, players will need to land wild symbols on the first two reels with cash prize coin symbols too.

The Lucky Lightning slot has a free spins mode, which is triggered by landing three bonus symbols on the reels that award players 10, 15 or 50 free spins. Finally, players in select jurisdictions can access the game’s 3×6 reel and free spins mode by purchasing them for 100x the player’s bet.

Yossi Barzely, the Chief Business Development Officer at Pragmatic Play, said of the game: “Our latest release is inspired by the rich mythology that surrounds the divine occupants of Mount Olympus, and this is reflected in the title’s vast offering of features. With so much on offer to players, the rewarding adventure and big win potential ensures that Lucky Lightning will be a hit for fans globally.”

The news comes after Pragmatic Play launched a dedicated live casino studio for gambling website Unibet and after the developer gained approval to launch its live titles in Colombia. The release of Lucky Lightning follows the launch of slots Dragon Hot Hold & Spin and Heart Of Rio.
