Gambling Operator 888 Holdings Launches New ‘Poker 8’ Poker Platform

888 Holdings

888 Holdings has launched a brand new poker platform.

The popular online gambling group announced its new service this week, describing Poker 8 as the “next-generation poker platform”.

According to the firm, Poker 8 will be made available to all new customers across 888’s poker network and will be introduced through several phases over the next few months.

According to reports, the first phase will see the 888poker tables receive a graphical upgrade for a cleaner design and increased functionality. In addition, the platform will also make transitioning between tables easier for players. Later phases will see enhanced graphical upgrades as well as changes to the lobby and, eventually, the mobile service.

888 Holdings has promised that the platform will offer a more engaging experience for players and in a statement, Guy Cohen, the Senior Vice-President of B2C for 888 Holdings, called the service an “entertaining and engaging experience”.

He said: “Over the coming months, all players will benefit from additional upgrades and improvements to our next generation poker platform and we’ll be taking on board customer feedback about the new features.

“Once the roll-out is complete, we believe our best-in-class platform will offer the most entertaining experience on the market.”

888 Holdings and BetBright

The news comes shortly after BetBright announced that 888 Holdings had bought it for £15 million, an agreement which led to the immediate closure of BetBright.

The Irish firm’s announcement led to controversy as it voided ante-post bets, sparking fury from its customers. A pouring of complaints led the UK Gambling Commission to launch an investigation into the purchase, only to announce that it was “content” with the two companies’ agreements.

The Commission’s announcement sparked even more fury, causing the UK Gambling Commission to defends its action over BetBright and 888 Holdings’ agreement.
