Big Time Gaming To Launch New Slot Game Mechanic With ‘Opal Fruits’

Big Time Gaming is reportedly launching an exciting new slot game mechanic with the release of their upcoming Opal Fruits slot.

The popular game provider developed and launched the famous MegaWays game engine in which the number of symbols and paylines changes with each spin. The engine proved to be hugely popular and has since been licensed out to other providers who have now launched their own successful MegaWays games.

Big Time Gaming’s new game mechanic looks to be a simplified version of MegaWays. Called Triple Reaction, the new mechanic allows users to make combinations left-to-right, right-to-left and then down at the centre of the reel’s grid.

Meanwhile, the more reactions (Winning combinations) and re-triggers you make the higher your multiplier will rise, leading to some huge wins. In addition, you’ll need to spell out the word ‘FREE’ in the game to launch the Free Spins feature, similar to having to spell out ‘GOLD’ in Bonanza MegaWays.

In an exclusive interview with Casino Beats, Big Time Gaming CEO Nik Robinson teased that the game has a “1980s retro feel” and called it a “lot of fun”.

Comparing Opal Fruits to BTG’s highly successful Bonanza MegaWays slot, Robinson said: “It feels like its big brother Bonanza on steroids – but it’s not MegaWays. We wanted to decouple the MegaWays complexity with a game that is just as much fun but is simpler. For us, in essence, it’s the next Bonanza.”

Throughout the interview with Casino Beats, Nik Robinson dropped hints about the upcoming slot, revealing that it can be played from 10p and that testers have already won 36,000 times their original stake.

The game has been described as colourful and reportedly features a retro soundtrack with jaw-dropping visuals that have been compared to that of an AAA console game.

However, you’ll need to wait until the end of the month to get your hands on Opal Fruits as Big Time Gaming are releasing it exclusively through Scientific Games for a short period. Until then, keep checking back to find out more about Opal Fruits and the exciting new game mechanic.
