Stud Poker

Stud poker is a poker variant popularly played in casinos. Here, one or more cards are dealt to each player face down, followed by one card face up. A betting round follows every hand. The additional cards received can dramatically change the game, allowing the player another chance to bet and making Stud Poker a volatile experience for all gamblers. The forms of Stud Poker are five-card stud and seven-card stud, and sometimes six-card stud.

Seven Card Stud Poker variant

There are three variations in Stud Poker - high, low and high-low. In seven-card high, the player with the highest-ranking hand takes the pot while in seven-card low, the player with the lowest hand wins. However, in seven-card high-low the players with both the highest hand and the lowest hand compete to win the pot, claiming half each.

In each variation, players receive seven cards and after the first three cards are dealt two face down, one up, there is a betting round. The next three are dealt face up followed by a betting round. The last card is called down and dirty. The remaining players then have to choose from their four face up and three closed cards The remaining players, who haven't folded, therefore have to choose their best hand from four open and three closed cards.

Texas Holdem

Texas Holdem is one of the most popular Poker variants and all all time favorite of casino players. It is very similar to seven-card stud. The main difference is that all the players get just two cards face down and five cards face up, known as community cards, placed on the table. Each player has seven cards to make up the best poker hand possible. Also, Texas holdem has only four rounds of betting, as opposed to five rounds in seven-card stud.
